    Wood sculpture
The art of wood carving has a long and deep tradition in Romanian culture, being a form of artistic expression that combines creativity with the craftsmanship.  Wood, the predominant material used, gives a unique quality to sculptures, bringing them to life through its natural textures and shades.  In Romania, wood carvers were inspired by the surrounding nature, but also by local symbols and mythology.  Whether it is imposing statues, small sculptures or decorative objects, each work tells a story, evoking ancient traditions and beliefs.  The techniques used range from hand carving to the use of modern tools, but the essence remains the same: the desire to turn a simple log into a work of art.  In recent years, interest in wood carving has grown, both among young talents and established artists, thus contributing to the revitalization of this art form and its promotion among the general public.  This artistic renaissance emphasizes not only the aesthetic value of wood carving, but also the importance of preserving the traditions and crafts that define Romania's cultural identity.
